York Machinery Sales has become one of the country’s leading auctions for agricultural and commercial tractors, fork lifts, plant and machinery.

IMPORTANT CHANGES TO OPERATING PROCEDURES

We have made a number of important changes to our operating procedures in order to try and meet increasing health and safety requirements.

1. ELECTRICAL ITEMS:

     ●    All electrical items must have a current electricians safety certificate before they can be offered for sale.

     ●    An electrical safety testing service will be available at the saleground on the Tuesday prior to the sale day between 11 am and 5 pm.  The cost of the service is £2 plus VAT per item tested.

2. DELIVERY & REMOVAL OF LOTS:

     ●    Saleground opening times for delivery of lots are set out on the entry forms and in the catalogues.

     ●    Any lots delivered on sale day must be unloaded and placed on their lot numbers by 8.30 am.

     ●    The main entrance area to the salefield, together with the loading ramp, will be closed for vehicles between 9am and 3pm.

     ●    Restrictions will apply to fork lift loading services on sale days until after 3pm to maintain safe loading practices.

     ●    Use of the loading ramp will not be available until after 3 pm.

There are 8 sales held each year, comprising approximately 5,000 lots with special sections for:-

• 4 x 4 vehicles
• Agricultural machinery
• Agricultural, commercial & general purpose trailers
• Livestock requisites
• Commercial plant & equipment
• Building materials
• Forestry equipment
• Workshop tools & equipment
• Garden & horticultural machinery & artefacts
• Trees, shrubs & landscaping

The saleground enjoys an excellent location adjacent to the A64, only 15 miles east of the A1(M). The facilities at the saleground including loading ramp, telescopic fork lifts, security compound, cafeteria and overnight lorry park.
