Farmers Market Home Page
The York Farmers Market is held on the third Saturday each month from 9am to 12 noon alongside the Saturday Auction.
Our Farmers Market was one of the first to be established in the north of England in the autumn of 1999. It is all undercover, enjoying easy access and free parking. There is always a wide range of fabulous local produce on offer, including many award winning products.
The main principle of the Farmers Market is about local producers selling fresh, seasonal, local produce direct to consumers in an atmosphere which promotes dialogue and understanding of production methods, environmental and welfare standards. This reduces food miles and puts money back into the local economy.
Produce usually on offer includes:-
Yorkshire beef, lamb and pork; vegetables; free range chicken and eggs; handmade breads, cakes, pastries and biscuits; sausages; pies; bacon; fresh and smoked fish; fruit wine; preserves; ready meals; crafts
