STORESTOCK MARKET – THURSDAY 15 SEPTEMBER

FORWARD
York Auction Centre had 193 head of stock through the market including 30 calves, 60 store cattle, 2 cows and calves and 101 dairy cattle at their weekly Store Stock market.

STORE CATTLE
Bullocks sold to £1055 for a Limousin from T H Kilby & Son.

Heifers sold to £1060 for a British Blue from D & A J Sellars & Son.
Bulls sold to £1005 (twice) for a Limousin from Messers Skelton.

Bulls

Cows and Calves sold to £980 for a Limousin with a heifer calf at foot from L C Byass Ltd.

Calves sold to £435 for a Male British Blue from R & E B Drake; to average £152.50.

Dairy Dispersal Sale
Prior to the sale there was good interest and this was reflected on the day, with a full ring of prospective purchasers. Trade was good for all ages and qualities of cows and heifers.

77 cows were sold, with a range of 1st to 5th calvers, with a top price of 850gns.
24 maiden heifers were sold to a top price of 860gns.

The sale was held in conjunction with Norton & Brooksbank.
