SHEEP

A better number of hoggs forward today, trade back a touch over all but all well fed types were good to sell, with pen after pen being knocked down around the £190 mark! Top gross price once again went to the Dobson family at £195, and the top pp/kg went to the same vendors for a pen of two at 407/kg. The SQQ sat at 388.4 but it’s worth noting that the all-in average of 339.5 reflects the fact that 52% of the hoggs forward were 52kgs + which brought the overall average down, but overall, trade remained firm for well finished hoggs. In the cull section, trade looked a little firmer with tops of £180/ head for some strong texels from Green Farm, mules sold to £94/ head and smaller texel x sold to £128 from R A Dobson, Two tups sold to £154 for continental x from Green farm.
